Ballyvolane's Bespoke Blend from Mahers Coffee

250g of Ballyvolane's organic house blend roasted by Mahers Artisan coffee roasters. The ground coffee has be roasted by the family-owned Irish company who are the oldest coffee company in Cork and synonymous with quality coffee for generations. Their coffee beans originate from the four corners of the world. They specialise in sourcing superior quality beans, including fair trade, organic and single estate coffees, which are hand roasted daily for freshness. They have been honoured with Blas na hEireann taste awards for their speciality blends.

Bertha’s Revenge Small Batch Orange Marmalade made by Crossogue Preserves

Irish preserve company in collaboration with our own Bertha’s Revenge Gin to create a unique orange gin marmalade. Who says you cant have gin at breakfast?!

Products made in the Crossogues farm kitchen in Tipperary in small batches. Nothing added to natural ingredients except lots of time and enthusiasm from the owners.

Bertha’s Revenge Gin

Distilled at Ballyvolane House, Bertha’s Revenge Gin is an award winning Irish boutique gin with a difference.

Bertha’s Revenge Gin uses whey alcohol as a base spirit to make a truly unique premium quality Irish gin (most spirits are made using barley or wheat grain spirit).

Distilled by hand with 18 different botanicals (locally foraged and grown where possible) and our own pure natural Irish spring water to produce Bertha’s Revenge gin. Bertha’s Revenge is the first artisan distillery to produce small batch milk gin from whey alcohol.

Nose – Jaunty juniper leads, followed quickly by the spicy and warming notes of cardamon, cumin and sweet citrus. The complexity of Bertha is evident and enthralling. She demands to be tasted.

Palate – our whey alcohol base comes to the fore on the palate. Like a conductor of an orchestra, she holds and releases the different notes to maximum effect. Effortlessly smooth from the start, sweet orange, coriander and peppery Alexanders are joined in a warming motherly caress of cumin, clove and cardamon. The generous nature of the spirit washes over the palate, finishing in a gentle spice-tinted heat that delivers a considered murmur of approval from your taste buds.

Sloe Bertha

A warming tipple made by infusing wild and cultivated sloes with Bertha’s Revenge Gin. The wild sloe berries are picked from the hedgerows around Ballyvolane House and beyond, when they ripen in the autumn. They are steeped into Bertha’s Revenge Gin for several months and add some sugar syrup at the end to sweeten.

A bit like a good dog, Sloe Bertha is a welcome companion when taking to the great outdoors over the winter. A few sips of Sloe Bertha will renew flagging enthusiasm when cold, wet and watching a match from the sidelines. Equally, it will serve to gird the loins when facing the final hill of the day. Away from the sporting field, Sloe Bertha may be enjoyed as a digestif or as a key ingredient in our Hedgerow Martini.

Herd Immunity Sanitiser

Working to World Health Organisation (WHO) recommended guidelines, Bertha’s Revenge Distillery have created a liquid sanitiser that at 80% ABV is fully effective, and also smells rather good having a small percentage of gin as a constituent ingredient!
